The philosophy behind this race is to provide the runners in the region the opportunity to run a marathon in a setting other than the usual metropolitan area. This race is being run in a rural country setting, through the rolling hills of central Virginia. If you prefer a smaller race where you will not lose precious minutes at the start and get lost in the crowd, then this race is for you.
